Windows8: Introduction & Features - Walkthrough

Microsoft has released Windows8 with great features and graphics compared to before released operating systems. But still some users are hanged on Windows XP and Windows7.  However Windows7 was also a great features.

Here below I have listed some features of  windows8 that has never seen before this operating system.

Charm Bar

            Charm bar is a bar given right side to window screen. It contains Search, Share, Start, Devices and Setting button.  This bar can be popup by hovering your mouse pointer to top-right or bottom-right corner of the window or by pressing Ctrl + C also popups charm bar. By opening it also displays battery info, Date and time on the left side.

 

 

 

Settings

             As windows8 made for Tablet touch interface so that here settings are also designed according to touch interface. Though we can use mouse pointer instead of finger if using on non-touch device. As shown in below figure. You can change Users, Wireless, Notification, Search, General etc settings. However, we can change all this settings from Control Panel as well as in Windows 7.

Start Menu

           Windows 8 comes with totally charming and beautiful Start Menu, this type of menu has never seen in before released operating systems. This is specially designed for touch devices, so that here all apps icon is presented as tiles. This start menu contains Mail, People, Calender, Store, XBOX, Skydrive, Flickr Photos, Videos, Music, Maps, Internet Explorer etc. apps.

          By opening this apps and synchronizing with your Gmail, Facebook, Skydrive or other account you can chat online friends of Google Talk or Facebook Chat with Messaging application. Photos, Calender, Videos, Mail also will be synchronized automatically. People app will show your Facebook friends and their profiles. Store app is Windows Store from which you can download windows8 apps and games as well.  There are lots features that you can explore by experience.

Windows8 Start Menu Flying Animation Effect

Have you upgraded from Windows7 to Windows8? If Yes, then you probably know that it has charming start menu,charm bar and lots of new features.


Here I have found that Windows8 Start menu has new effect, by default it displays as a block effect but by using this trick you will see that start menu comes from left with great flying effect.

Windows 8 Internet Explorer App Review

Microsoft rocks after releasing new Windows8 with their own apps. Windows 8 release Preview has many applications in built and those are great. Here is a some screenshots of Internet Explorer which is in built. You can find it from Start menu.

New Features

1. In this screenshot you can see that address bar is given below. Some more buttons are there also like Reload, Pin it, settings and forward and Back too. When you press Enter and page loads than given bar disappears and you can enjoy totally full web page without title bar or footer bar.

2.  This below screenshots tells about tabs system. In this Microsoft has make tabs system superb. Though it's made for tablet PC's so that switch between tabs like shown in below image. Black bar appears when you right click on page anywhere. It goes off again when you select tab of your choice and allows you to surf full screen web surfing. 

3.  When you are surfing and want to copy something to web page and press Ctrl+V it warns you that Do you want to allow IE to use your clip board. You think that what is this for? but it is useful in security issues. When bots or some scripts try to copy something it may not able do this. By this you or your data will be stay secure ( In some Cases).

4. Back button position and look also changed from below menu bar (In old IE's) to in the middle of left side of window (See below Image).

[Solved] Not able to install .Net Framework on Windows 8

Many of us are using Windows8, but few of them have faced .Net Framework problem.  Some application requires .Net Framework 3.5 but when you install it, it still some application ask to install it.

So, here is a solution. There are two ways mainly.
1. If you have fast internet connection then you can enable it through "Add or remove Features".
2. If you have not connected to internet then you can solve this using DISM.exe tool.

1. Through Add or Remove Features.

        
                Goto Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Now click on "Turn Windows Features on or off" in the lest pane.
  
                Now check both ".Net Framework 3.5 (includes 2.0 and 3.0)" and ".Net Framework Advanced Services". Then click OK. (See below image)

2. Using DISM.exe tool

               Mount your Windows8 image into virtual drive or extract it into USB drive or insert Win8 DVD.

               Open cmd.exe as administrator.

               Now copy and paste below code in cmd.exe, then hit enter. (Here replace D: with your related windows 8 image path. Where you have extracted image either in USB drive or Virtual drive or in DVD.) (See below image.)

dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:d:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess

Finally, Windows Server 8 beta is now available for download.

Windows Server 8 has many features, specially in virtualization category. Within Windows Server “8″ you will find exciting innovations in areas of virtualization, networking, storage, user experience, and a transition to Windows PowerShell® to take scripting to a whole new level.

Windows Server 8 is available to download in 64 bit and as a VHD (Virtual Hard Disk). In this 64-bit ISO image comes in English, Chinese (simplified), French, German, Japanese and VHD is in English only.

Windows Server 8 Ready to Download

Microsoft has released the beta build of its forthcoming Windows 8 Server operating system, a day after making its "Consumer Preview" of the Windows 8 client-side code available on Wednesday.


"With Hyper-V Network Virtualization you can create virtual networks so different business units, or even multiple customers, can seamlessly share network infrastructure," said Microsoft's corporate vice president for servers Bill Laing in a blog posting. "You will be able to move virtual machines and servers around without losing their network assignments."


The download comes as a 64-bit ISO image in English, Chinese (simplified), French, German, Japanese, and as a virtual hard disk (VHD) edition in English only. Code is stable but still in beta mode. Users installs it at their own risk.

HI ALERT!!! New Trojan Spreading - SPQJSADSLA.EXE Get Details

Friends while i am surfing i got a new alert that my PC is infected. Suddenly one window opens with security shield title and it starts scanning it self, even i am not using any antivirus, or any antimalware.

Than i checked process in task manager and found the process of security shield, the process was xnlroiob.exe, then i try to find on internet but google says no result found.

I doubt that it's not any antivirus, surely it's a fake warning and virus or trojan or malware.

I think and again checked task manager, i found that one java.exe process is also running even i am not using any java application. Then i end the process and i amazed that, that security shield application was stopped working and i am not getting any warning any more.

After Search i found that this is a Trojan and giving fake warning to victims and running on java.

Then i started CProcess utility (from http://www.nirsoft.net/) and find the location of that fu*ky trojan. It was in my "C:\Users\Technoknol\AppData\Local\xnlroiob.exe". I tried to delete but when i close and reopen that location, it was there.

So, Beware friends it's the alert because i have faced the problem and i know how it's danger. Don't worry it's solution will be published when i win against that fu*ky.

Below is a Screenshots i've captured. If you have seen like this on your computer then you're infected beware when sufing.

1. This Screen in image says that such listed files are suspecious but i have checked but that was never shown as suspecious.





2.This windows says that your Internet Explorer is infected with Trojan Spy, and asking you to activate.

3. Whenever you click on any warning or anywhere it opens full screen window like below image.



 

4.  It opens a window looking as control panel-->Action Center (in Windows7).

5. The main window which first opens on my PC any starts scanning it self.

6. A window which says 9 viruses, 2 adware and 3 spyware detected and asking to remove all threats like any original antivirus.

7. and last a notification warning tells you that Spyware.IEmonster is detected and sending all your passwords.

And at last, have you noticed that, in 4th image close button is disabled when microsoft will never do that (ofcourse not in control panel) and it looks like control panel of windows7 , and in other images windows like Windows XP (I am using Windows7).

Use OpenDNS for Faster and Safer Browsing

With the use of DNS servers you can surf the web sites fast and safely. Here is a tut about how to configure you system to use DNS servers and which is the best.

To get fastest speed with safety just use OpenDNS (www.opendns.com) for your ISP’s DNS servers. OpenDNS has a monster DNS cache, and DNS servers located around the globe, so you may be able to retrieve IP addresses from it more quickly than from the default DNS servers your ISP points to. And, as you’ll see later in this hack, you get all kinds of other benefits, such as automatically fi xing URLs typos for you; for example, type www.yahoo.cmo into your address bar, and you’ll be sent to www.yahoo.com, instead of getting a page error.

You only need to configure your system to use it. The following section will teach you.

Configure OpenDNS in Windows XP
In Windows XP, select Control Panel→Network and Internet Connections→Network Connections,
right-click your network connection from the Network Connections window, and select Properties.
From the network connection dialog box that appears, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click
Properties. The screen you’ll see will be the same as the in below image.

Select “Use the following DNS server addresses” ( See Figure ). For the Preferred DNS server, enter
this address: 208.67.222.222. For the Alternative DNS server, enter this address: 208.67.220.220. Click OK, and then click Close and Close again. Restart your PC for the settings to take effect.

Configure OpenDNS in Windows Vista
To use OpenDNS servers in Windows Vista, select Control Panel→Network and Internet→Network
and Sharing Center. Click the View status link on the right side of the screen. The Local Connection
Status screen appears. Click Properties, and the Local Area Connection Properties screen appears.
Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP v4), click Properties and follow steps as in Windows XP.

Configure OpenDNS in Windows7
For open DNS in Windows7 goto Control Panel→Network and Internet→Network and Sharing Center.In the right pane 'view your active section' your active connection is there click on your connection name beside 'Connection:'. New window appears showing your connection status in there click on 'Properties' will popups new window. Click on Networking tab, select 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)' and click on Properties. Now as in figure do above steps in XP and Click OK, and close. Reboot your computer to change effect.
